Veteran's Holiday Camp

The Veteran’s Holiday Camp is situated on Gardom Lake and is 18.1 kilometers from Salmon Arm on Highway 97B and 3.1 kilometers from the Enderby, Grinrod,Salmon Arm turn off from Highway 97A. Gardom Lake Road.
 

The camp was incorporated under the Societies Act of British Columbia in 196l and was officially opened by Premier W.A.C. Bennett on July 30th, 1966. The camp is managed by The Gardom Lake Holding Society consisting of the Zone Commander, Deputy Zone Commander, and the Presidents of each Branch. Funding for the day-to-day operation of the camp is provided by Zone allocations, branches, and campsite donations

The camp consists of 12.5 acres on the beach area with approximately 1000 feet of lakeshore. In this area, there are 7 cabins belonging to Armstrong, Enderby, Vernon, Sicamous, Salmon Arm, Kelowna, and Lumby Branches, which are controlled by the individual branches and are rented to their members and guests.  As well as the campsite area there are 141.5 acres on the upper side of the road that contains some hiking and walking trails. This land was purchased for $6000.00 from Oswald Dobell.

There are also 18 campsites with electrical outlets and water which are controlled by the camp caretaker.

  • $450 weekly or $75 per day with a minimum of 3 days

  • Check-in 4 pm

  • Checkout 11 am

  • Branch 62 Members or Veterans receive a 15% discount (Proof required)

  • Picnic area, and barbeque is also available and can be reserved on a first-come basis.

Pets are allowed, but must be on a leash and cleaned up after.

**ANYONE NOT KEEPING THEIR PETS ON A LEASH OR OBSERVED NOT CLEANING UP AFTER THEIR PET WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED BY CAMP CARETAKERS.

Usual operating dates for the camp are from the first Sunday in May until the first Sunday after Thanksgiving.

All members using the facilities are asked to register at the gate.

​

About Gardom Lake: 

  • Fully stocked with rainbow trout, bull trout, and brook trout

  • Gas powered boats are banned.
